Hit me with your best shot

1 May

Conveniently, the first day I no longer am a participant in the A to Z Challenge, also happens to fall on a day many of you have dubbed Wordless Wednesday. I am hopping on that bandwagon and giving my mind a break with a mostly Wordless Wednesday myself.

I love sports and I especially love attending sporting events in person. College football is hands down my favorite (Go Gators!), followed by hockey (Yay Bruins!). My boyfriend has adopted the Gators for my sake and luckily, we both love the Boston Bruins.

One of our first dates was to a Red Sox game, we flew to Florida for a Gator football game, saw the Patriots play the Jets here at home and saw them play the Dolphins in Miami. We have gone to many Providence College basketball and hockey games. It’s his alma mater and so close by we can’t resist cheering them on whenever possible.

As for the Bruins, while both of us have been to many, many games over the years, we had not gone since we started dating.

However, last week we got to attend our first Bruins game together. We had purchased the tickets earlier in the season, but it happened to fall on the day the game was cancelled due to the insane blizzard. I almost forgot we had the tickets by the time the day came around. It was against the Tampa Lightning which is fun for me since I lived there for several years. Tickets were so cheap I would often go to games even when my team wasn’t in town. Bruins tickets are NOT cheap around here, so this was a treat for us!

Even better, the Bruins won- they broke their losing streak with a nice ass kicking for Tampa!

What is your favorite sport to see in person?

(I swear I had mostly wordless intentions).

Thanks to Julie You Jest for another Very Inspiring Blogger Award!

In true me fashion, I signed up for another challenge for May. This one has no real rules- it is my kind of challenge. While I am not a huge cusser myself, I do support the reasoning behind the challenge. Plus, I don’t even have to do it every day! Check out the ABC’s of Swearing

welcome to the club! I love, love LOVE the mental break that Wordless Wednesday gives me and it couldn’t have come at a better time than the day after A to Z!! Nicely done (though I think the key is to use less words) 😉

Congrats on completion of a-z. Hubby loves hockey and The Bruins have always been his team too. I’m not much of a sports fan personally, but used to enjoy tailgating for OSU football games.

I genuinely love sports of any kind, but honestly nothing beats a Major League baseball game (go Red Sox!!)…my hubby and I (pre-kids) used to travel every summer to a different major league park to see a game…great memory! :)-Ashley

I’ve only been to one professional soccer game- US vs Mexico a couple of years ago. It was so fun!

I’m am so totally not a sports fan. At all. (Except that I coached soccer) So your post fell mostly on deaf ears (blind eyes?) Thanks for the pimp out, you assclown.

I wish I liked sports but I can’t get into anything. I try, at least! Well, “try” meaning I bring magazines to sports bars & events. But at least I am there! 🙂

Isn’t awesome when you share a love of sports I always feel bad when ppls significant others are not sports fan. What a drag not to be able to share that!

This looks like so much fun! Me and my boyfriend just went to a phillies game two weeks ago. We’re both big baseball fans. 🙂

Hmm, what sport do I like watching live? I guess hockey; I’m really not a huge sports fan at all, but if I am going to watch sports at all, I much prefer the live version! I loved watching soccer in Botswana!

We were just in Boston this past weekend when the Red Sox, the Bruins and the Celtics were all playing, so it was so much fun to celebrate with everyone. Sounds like the perfect date to me and glad you enjoyed!

I was never a sports fan until I met my husband…now I LOVE going to college football games and MLB games. I have been to NFL and NHL games, which are ok, but I definitely prefer college FB or baseball!

I’m all about football and baseball live. Football I can watch a whole game on TV…baseball it’s easier for me to watch in person!

I just saw the Bruins for the first time after being in Boston for about 2 years! It was so exciting! I really like seeing basketball in person too. Not a sports person really though, besides running.

I’m not a huge sports fan. However my fiance sure is. As I type this he’s in the other room watching the Bruins and yelling a the TV. While it gets annoying, I find it hilarious. WE Like the Red Sox and even went to a game! And the Patriots of course, we used to go to training camp ALL the time!!! Ah, its so fun having someone so close that knows all t he same stuff. My fiance hates the Gators. I think Tim Tebow played for them right? Well, either way he hates Tim also! We like LSU :)Thats a cute picture of you guys. Boo to the snow!

The only sports I have patience for are Oklahoma State Football and Basketball games. Otherwise I’d rather read a book! lol 🙂

Years ago, I loved going to Oklahoma State games. Now, I take in a few Razorback football games each season. Otherwise, meh. The German isn’t into many sports either (golf – snore) so aside from major events, it’s never on at our house. This is not usual behavior for a girl raised in Oklahoma.
