The lovely lady at Things That Happen Everyday has honored me with the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. It sounds so impressive, right?
The rules are as follows:
Seven Things About Another Clean Slate
- I grew up being called Katie, but at some point started going by Kate because it sounded more professional. I can tell what phase of life people know me from or how close they are to me based on what they call me.
- I still sleep with the teddy bear my dad gave me when I was first born in the hospital. His name is Teddy. Very fitting, I think.
- I got glasses when I was three years old and was allowed to get contacts when I turned 13. I considered it the best gift ever at the time and don’t understand people who wear fashion glasses by choice now.
- You all know my first gig was babysitting, but my first real job was working in a fish market that one of the family’s owned. It was a smelly first job.
- I have a younger sister and a younger brother. We would all do anything for each other, but definitely still have our sibling moments.
- I played soccer as a kid, but eventually I quit because the coach required me to take out my earrings. I obviously loved the sport.
- My mom is one of my best friends. There are many times I would have been completely lost without her- and not in the “I’m just saying this to be nice” way, but in the totally serious way.
And the nominees are…
Here I Go With All My Thoughts
I know the bigger blogs don’t usually participate in these types of things and some of my fave new blogging friends belong to those, so please feel free to snatch this award for yourself if you want- you know who you are!
ALSO, if you haven’t heard the news, two of my blogging mentors My Life as Lucille and Something Clever 2.0 convinced me I need a Facebook page, so go check it out 🙂 (Update: I’ve hidden this page for now- still trying to figure it all out!).
And thank you for the two new Liebsters I received from Reflex Reflections and Just Another Blog. Make sure you check these great blogs out! Also check out my other Liebster Award mentions (see 1-2 here , 3-6 here and 7 here). Appears I have a lot of catching up to do responding to these awards.
Thank You!! You are sweetness wrapped up with bow on top!
When I was 13, the eye doctor said that I was “lacking the maturity” for contacts – He was trying to poke my eye out so, yeah, I freaked a little! By the way, what’s a twitter wine party and can I come? Also, did My Life as Lucille and Something Clever 2.0 tell you how to work the FB page? I need some insight!!
Again, thank you for thinking of me! This is awesome!
They didn’t but I am sure you could ask them! I just kind of did it like my regular FB, ya know.
You deserve it BTW 🙂
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you payed it forward! That’s how I got all feeling like I could actually write in this blog world thing. Only you’re probably better than I am so…you’re welcome? Thanks for the mention, hun. Ask me anything. I’m sort of a social media maven. Ok. Well, not really. But I have a few tricks. I’ll go now. xoxoxo
You ARE the best! Thanks for being there!
Thank you, Kate! No one has ever called me inspiring before. Back at ya – so glad we’re blog friends!
Me too!!!
Thank you so much! I feel muted by the news today but I’ve been itching for some positive vibes since today is my daughter’s birthday. This is what I needed. Also, you are awesome and inspiring. Congrats.
Happy Birthday to your daughter! You now have to still be my bloggy friend even if I do put my glasses top down!
Awe! *hugs* Thanks for Nom!! So glad we’re blogging friends! I didn’t get glasses until I was 14, but I never wore them…they just made everything clearer so I didn’t think I really needed them. So when I was 21 in lecture halls and squinting, I finally decided to get contacts. 🙂
I’m so glad we’re blogging friends too! I am now considering lasik although it terrifies me!
Love you Kate! Mo xox

A Liebster Award For You!
Awww thank you!!!!
Wow thank you! This is so sweet. I adore your blog and glad I found it through the A-Z challenge. thanks again and cheers to you and Boston!
Yay! Me too! PS I am confused about your name- it is different on your comments, blog and Twitter- what should I call you!?
I always enjoyed soccer but during 4th grade a 6 ft folding table fell on my right foot. I was never able (and still not) to kick a ball with that foot. I should’ve learned to kick with my left foot but then I was still paranoid about someone stepping on that foot. Eekk. 😉 Fun learning more about you!!
Oh no! I don’t blame you for being nervous to try playing again! Ouch!!!
Congrats!!! A well-deserved award! I got my glasses at age 5 and contacts at 13 as well. I remember the doctor putting in my new contacts for the first time, and looking at the plant he had on the other side of the room and thinking “OMG that’s what that looks like?” I had never seen so clearly! 😀
Haha I know! And they used to be SO HARD to get into my eyes!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! You are the sweetest! We must have a blogger date soon!
xoxo
Yes! And I totally had to nominate you for this 🙂
