Officially out of my mind

17 Apr

That is it. It has happened. I have officially gone out of my mind.

What? You think this happened before today. Well, you’re wrong. Today is THE DAY I lost it.

Seriously, who in their right mind thinks it is okay to let their dog go the bathroom on the sidewalk and not clean up? Not me. BUT, who wears their new flats to commute in and then looks at her phone instead of where she is walking? Yep, me.

Don’t worry- it is all cleaned up now.

But that’s not all that has caused this mind crisis.

I walked back home, cleaned my shoe and then walked back to this bus- this time looking where I put my feet. I got on the bus, got all the way to work and sat down at my desk only to realize I had forgotten my computer at home. Are you kidding?!

Back to the bus I walked, back to my house I went and then turned around and did it all over again, this time with my laptop bag.

So here I am, clean shoes, clear heart, computer on desk and officially out of my mind.

I know I should think about all the people out there who are suffering and have been through serious tragedies and instances. And trust me, I am. I am in no way comparing my bad morning caused by my own idiocy to what other people are dealing with. I have perspective, but sometimes its the little things that are the tipping point- especially after such big things have weighed you down.

Is it Friday yet?

Some brightening news: Over the last couple of days I was nominated for not one, not two, not three… you get the point… but FOUR Liebster Awards! Since I so recently started blogging and had just responded to a couple other of these awards (here), I am going to thank my nominators (did I make that up?) and ask you to please visit their amazing sites! I will definitely be responding to their questions sometime soon 🙂

Oh boy–people can be so irresponsible. Yep, sometimes we do reach a tipping point. I want a do-over button for days like that, We have three dogs, one weighs 120 lbs. One weighs 70. Yep, My husband, bless his heart, tries to keep up with them and clean it up (this is all in our yard, by the way) but sooner or later he misses a pile and a shoe invariably finds it later. Out in public, when they are on leashes? No..that is just plain rude to leave that mess for someone else.

    Congrats on the :Liebster award.

And sorry that this particular “O” word blundered into your world today. 🙂

It’s lazy city people! I am sure if it were in their own backyards they would try harder to clean it up. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

OMG first you TOTALLY Deserve multiple Liebsters 🙂
But I am feeling your pain of losing the mind. Exactly when that happens, I am not sure. I blame the children or the husband or…..

    Congrats on your award!

Thanks Kerri! Good to know I am not alone, but I have no children or husband. I can only blame myself! Yikes!

Congrats on all the Liebsters! And ugh, mama told us there’d be days like this. Dog poop days. My husband likes to watch the dog walkers out the window and declare, “What if I go to their house and pee on THEIR mailbox?” Um, honey… humans are a little different. They are SUPPOSED to be responsible. And by all means, they should pick up after their pets!

    • Another Clean Slate April 17, 2013 at 1:19 pm #

That would definitely be a funny way to pay them back! Your mama was right 😉

Congratulations (not on the dog poo). Tipping points are tipping points, you put it very well.

OMG… I once got all the way to work on a day I was transferring to a new department and wanted to make a good impression, realized I’d forgotten my computer at home, drove all the way home, and realized I’d left my damn house keys on my desk at work!!!!!! So I feel your pain (minus the dog poop, of course!).

here’s to hoping the rest of the week is better 🙂

  13. The Dose of Reality April 17, 2013 at 11:55 pm #

You are stronger than I. I would have been VERY NEAR the edge with the shoe, but then the whole “I forgot my computer” after that? Yeah, that would have sent me flying right over the edge. I’m impressed you just handled it all!!

I laughed the moment I saw your title, and then giggle at the poo, but at the computer I felt your ‘out of my mind moment’. I sincerely hope your day ended better. congrats on your awards, if you hadn’t mentioned them I would have chosen you too 🙂

    • Another Clean Slate April 18, 2013 at 5:04 pm #

Aw, thanks Ida! Today has been a much better day! Hope you’ve had a good one as well 🙂

I think you’re allowed to be frustrated about your problems, no matter how small they may be. Only an asshole thinks that pointing out how worse off other people are is some way of making you feel better. It just makes you feel worse — because you’re not only still frustrated, but now you hate yourself for being petty.

Wow! You must be doing something right (even if you had an off day) – being new to blogging you are off to a great start! I agree you should share with us how you did it – my blog is off to a slow start. Of course, I write about a narrow topic and I’m not nearly as witty as you are 😉

Stopping by for the A-to-Z Challenge,
